➭ The Internet is a global network of computers and other devices that are connected together, allowing them to communicate and share information.
➭ The Internet is the infrastructure, while services like the World Wide Web (WWW) run on it.

🌍 World Wide Web (WWW)
➭ The World Wide Web is a system of interlinked web pages that can be accessed using a web browser through the Internet. It was created by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1991.
➭ WWW contains various types of content such as text, images, audio, and video.
➭ Important: WWW is a service on the Internet, not the Internet itself.
📄 Web Page vs Website
➭ Web Page: A single HTML document on the internet. Examples include a Gmail login page or a Wikipedia article.
➭ Website: A collection of related web pages connected together, like google.com or youtube.com.
🏠 Home Page
➭ The home page is the main page of a website. It provides an introduction to the website and contains navigation links to other pages.
➭ It acts as a starting point for visitors to explore the website easily.
🔗 URL (Uniform Resource Locator)
➭ A URL is the complete address of a web page on the Internet.
Examples: https://www.google.com | https://www.youtube.com
➭ Components of a URL:
- Protocol: Specifies the method used to access the resource (e.g., https).
- Domain: Name of the website (e.g., google.com).
- Path: Location of the specific page on the website (e.g., /search).
📡 ISP (Internet Service Provider)
➭ ISPs are companies that provide internet access to users.
➭ Examples include Jio, Airtel, BSNL, and other providers that offer broadband, mobile data, and fiber connections.
🌊 Net Surfing
➭ Net surfing refers to browsing different websites using web browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.
➭ Users can read information, watch videos, play games, and explore resources on the internet while surfing.
🔍 Search Engine
➭ A search engine is a tool that helps users find information on the Internet by typing keywords.
Popular Search Engines: Google, Bing, Yahoo.

➭ A server is a powerful computer that stores websites, files, and data, and makes them accessible 24×7 on the Internet.
➭ Types of servers include web servers, file servers, mail servers, and database servers.
➭ Servers ensure that users can access websites and services without interruption.

📱 Streaming Media
➭ Streaming allows watching or listening to audio/video without downloading the complete file.
➭ The media plays instantly as data loads in small parts.
➭ Popular platforms: YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify.
➭ Streaming controls available: Play, Pause, Volume, Fullscreen, Quality control, Speed control.
➭ Requires a stable internet connection for smooth playback.
🖼️ Downloading Images
➭ Steps to download images from the internet:
- Go to www.google.com.
- Click on the Images tab.
- Type your search keyword (Example: “Flowers”, “Maps”, “Animals”).
- Right-click the selected image.
- Select Save image as.
- Choose file format (JPG / PNG / GIF) and save to your folder.
➭ Note: Do not download copyrighted images without permission.
🎥 YouTube Videos
➭ YouTube is the world’s largest video-sharing platform where users can watch, upload, and share videos.
- Open www.youtube.com.
- Type a topic in the search bar (e.g., “Class 8 Computer”, “Science One shot Video”).
- Select a video and click play.
- Use controls: Play/Pause, Volume, Captions, Speed, Full-screen, and Time Slider.

✍️ Blogging
➭ A blog (Web Log) is an online platform where a person shares ideas, information, or experiences.
➭ The person who writes a blog is called a blogger.
➭ Blogs help in knowledge sharing, earning money, teaching, and expressing thoughts.
Types of Blogs:
- Personal Blogs
- Corporate Bolgs
- Media Blogs
- Personal Blogs: Written by individuals to share personal life, hobbies, or experiences. Example: Travel diary blog, cooking diary.
- Corporate Blogs: Created by companies to promote products and share business updates. Example: Google's official blog, Amazon business blog.
- Media Blogs: Share news, reviews, and trending topics quickly. Example: NDTV blogs, Times of India blog.
🔐 Blogger Account Creation
➭ Steps to create a Blogger account:
- Visit www.blogger.com.
- Click Sign in and log in with your Gmail account.
- Enter your Display Name (this will appear on your posts).
- Click Continue to Blogger.
➭ After login, you can create multiple blogs from the dashboard.
🆕 New Blog Creation
➭ To create a new blog:
- Click the Create New Blog button.
- Enter a suitable blog Title.
- Choose a unique URL (web address).
- Select a Theme/Template for design.
- Click Create Blog to finish setup.
➭ Your blog is now live on the Internet.
📝 Publishing Blog Post
➭ Steps to publish your first blog post:
- Click on New Post.
- Add a title (e.g., “My First Blog”).
- Write content in the text editor.
- Format using tools: Bold, Italic, Underline, Images, Links, etc.
- Click Publish to make your post visible on the Internet.
➭ You can also edit, delete, or update posts later.
